A strong, reliable economy helps create jobs. Jobs create opportunity for our families.
Christina Sappey believes we need to develop our business climate in a responsible way and ensure that Pennsylvania is an attractive place to start and grow businesses that create family-sustaining jobs. She will work to pass on-time state budgets that fund programs and support small and mid-sized businesses.
In 7 years, over 75% of the workforce will be millennials. Pennsylvania needs to focus on training and retaining emerging talent now to ensure that the next generation decides to stay, work, and raise a family here.
Christina also wants to leverage robotic process automation (RPA) and machine learning to streamline government processes, such as permitting, to make government and our economy more efficient. Christina is dedicated to bringing additional innovation, tech, and green businesses to Chester County, while preserving and supporting our thriving agricultural industry. Chester County would not be Chester County without its agricultural legacy. She also sees opportunity for Pennsylvania to create an industry surrounding aging population support services, as our state is one of the oldest states in the nation and people increasingly wish to age in place.
Pennsylvania has a rich history, and although pockets of our state are benefiting from higher-paying jobs, we have not moved enough to ensure these opportunities are state-wide. Without a state-wide growth economy, we are not able to adequately stop income inequality or fund programs that we value - like public education safety initiatives, or residential recycling. We must remain fiscally responsible to ensure a sustainable economy and state budget.
